Local Valentine’s Day special events

• Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, (847) 205-4433) has Valentine celebrations available for diners of all ages. Feb. 13, children are welcome to come in for dinner and decorate cookies for their parents. Each child will receive three heart-shaped cookies, one to eat and two to give away. They will decorate them using Prairie Grass’s house-made, all natural frosting and receive a card to decorate and box to present it in for just $14.

• Pinstripes Northbrook, 1150 Willow Road, Northbrook (847) 480-2323, will be honoring Valentine’s Day Feb. 10-14. Start your lunch or dinner with a complimentary champagne toast. Pinstripes’ homemade heart-shaped pizzas from Margherita to Sausage & Peppers and Sunnyside Up Egg & Asparagus are priced at $12. Each couple will receive a complimentary Pinstripes’ Frangelico Chocolate Cake, a decadent flourless chocolate cake infused with Frangelico liquor served with whipped cream, red grapes and strawberry sauce. Reservations no required.

• The Glenview House, 1843 Glenview Road, Glenview is hosting a Sparkling Dinner with Domaine Chandon and weekend long 3-course menu on Feb. 9. The Sparking Dinner will take place at 6 p.m. Feb. 9. The cost is $50 per person (all-inclusive). A three-course dinner and wine pairing will take place Feb. 10-14 at a cost of $35 plus tax and gratuity.
