Expect a wild time when American Eagle Productions brings its original adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book to the Book Market at Glen Town Center, 2651 Navy Blvd., Glenview, 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29.
“This is the primary Jungle Book story of Mowgli being discovered in the jungle, his eventual return to his family and then his return to the jungle,” said Linda Slein of American Eagle Productions. “It is essentially an operetta. There’s not much straight dialog. It’s a lot of music and percussion and dance.”
Eight colorfully costumed professional actors will perform.
“It’s a great representation of the Rudyard Kipling literature,” Slein said. “Also, I think it’s a great way to introduce children to operetta. It’s telling the story through music and dance. It keeps the little ones engaged throughout the show.”
The show is recommended for ages 5 and up. Register in advance at the Glen Town Center website.
