Michael Pierson and Chris Eigel, principal partners of the Chicago real estate firm Prudential Rubloff Properties, along with 150 brokers and their guests attended the second annual ‘A Day in Paradise’ Prudential Rubloff Cares Fundraiser and raised $24,000 to benefit the Sunshine Kids on Sept. 19 at the Marriott Oak Brook Hills Resort. Celebrity G.W. Bailey, Executive Director of The Sunshine Kids Foundation, was present to support Prudential Rubloff’s efforts. His moving words set the stage for the Sunshine Kids who were on hand to share their own stories about the organization and how much the involvement of companies like Prudential Rubloff means to them. Julie Morse, a Prudential Rubloff real estate broker and writer, spoke about her experience with her son’s childhood cancer. She authored a book, along with her son, about their personal experience. The book, “When Billy Went Bald”, has been critically acclaimed by Midwest Book Review as “an exceptional contribution to the field of children’s health and education”, filling a deep void on the bookshelf. ‘A Day in Paradise’ included a shotgun golf event, tennis, bingo, live and silent auctions, raffles and buffet dinner followed by dancing to “South of Disorder”, the popular Jimmy Buffet cover band. The Sunshine Kids is a national non-profit organization dedicated to children undergoing cancer treatment. “Our co-chairmen, Tina Porterfield and Laura Marquardt, of the Hinsdale office, planned an extraordinary event,” said Eigel, CEO. “Their commitment to this event and Prudential Rubloff Cares is impressive. They have done an outstanding job and we thank them for their hard work and a fun-filled day. Everyone had a great time.” For more information on the Sunshine Kids, please visit www.sunshinekids.org.
