Illinois gun licenses up 6.1%

The Illinois State Police says the number of people licensed to own guns in the state increased 6.1 percent in 2011.
More than 78,000 licenses were issued in 2011 and nearly 1.4 million people in have Illinois firearm owner’s identification cards, The Associated Press reported.
