NORTHBROOK — A man was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash Thursday in Northbrook, authorities said.

The crash happened after 3 p.m. at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard and appeared to involve four vehicles, at least one of which was flipped on its side.

Hector Esquivel, 23, of the 200 block of Green Bay Road in Highwood, was pronounced dead on the scene at 3:40 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The initial emergency dispatch called for extrication, indicating someone was trapped in a vehicle.

At least two ambulances left the scene with people involved in the crash.
