The Chicago Botanic Garden
Tram Tours will run through Oct. 30. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children. Members receive a $1 discount off these rates. For tour schedules call (847) 835-8239.
Nature Nights, programs for children ages 4-10 and their families will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. the first and third Saturday of each month, through Sept. 17. The cost is $20 per child for members and $23 for nonmembers.
Northshore Iris and Daylily Society Iris Show and Sale will take place from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. May 28 and 29.
Plant Giveaways will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, through Oct. 2. Volunteers will share information about the featured plant, which changes monthly, and encourage visitors to plant a seed or seedling to take home to their own gardens.
Garden Chef Series will feature demonstrations at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, through Oct. 2.

Northbrook Farmers Market is hosting a fruit-pie baking contest July 6 for amateur bakers of all ages. Pies must be made from scratch, and use only in-season fruits and berries. Pies will be judged by professional chefs based on overall flavor, appearance, texture and creativity. The winner will receive a complete dinner for two, including glass of wine and dessert at Maestro Seafood & Grill in Northbrook (gratuity not included). Entry forms must be received by June 29.
