Northbrook winner of botannical art award on display at library

Northbrook botanic artist Heeyoung Kim, who recently won a gold medal from Royal Horticultural Society London Botanical Art Exhibition 2012, has her works on display at the Northbrook Public library through May.

Kim’s collection of eight watercolor paintings were awarded gold medal in London for the outstanding and consistent excellence. The body of works shown in this exhibit was a combination of common, rare and endangered plants of American prairie. This same collection is now being exhibited in the Northbrook Public Library in May. The show opened Friday and runs through May 31.

Kim currently teaches teaches botanical art in Chicago land. Her classes are run by her independently at Noyes Cultural and Art Center in Evanston. View Heeyoung’s paintings of America’s prairie plants at www.PrairiePlantArt.com.
