Police Blotter for May 15

The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Northbrook Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt; only a court of law can make that determination.
ARMED ROBBERY
Police said a man wearing a long dreadlocks wig, sunglasses and a trench coat and displaying a dark-colored handgun went into the Dundee Pharmacy, 2750 Dundee Road, about 9:30 a.m. May 12 and demanded the drug “Norco.” Police said an employee shoved the man away from the door and locked himself in the back of the pharmacy.
DUI
Angel Palmerin, 21, of 1710 McGovern, Highland Park, was charged May 11 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on $3,000 bond with a June 25 court dale. Police said Palmerin was involved in an accident on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road and then failed field sobriety tests.
Mark A. Hutchinson, 42, of 419 Diane Dr., Buffalo Grove, was charged May 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on $1,000 bond with a June 11 court date. Police said he was arrested after he was involved in an accident at Lake Cook and Sanders.
DRUGS
Mujais Miric, 18, of 2742 The Mews, Northbrook, was charged May 12 in court appearance tickets with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. In the same incident Jason Chung, 18, of 34525 Lake Knoll Drive, Northbrook, was charged in a court appearance ticket with possession of marijuana. Both are to appear in court June 15. Police said they were charged after an officer found them in a car that was parked and running at Auburn and Manor. Police said the officer saw smoke coming out of the car and a glass pipe in the car.
BATTERY
Lawrence La Coste, 62, of 648 Fairway Dr., Glenview, was charged May 11 with domestic battery and unlawful interference with reporting a domestic battery in connection with an incident on the 800 block of Bermuda. La Coste is to appear in court June 7. Police said he struck the victim several times and left Northbrook, but was later arrested in Glenview.
BURGLARY
An undetermined amount of cash was taken May 7 or 8 from at ATM machine at a service station on the 500 block of Dundee. Police said someone entered a supply room in the car wash at the station and broke through a cinder block wall to reach the rear of the ATM machine.
THEFT
Someone used a bad check May 9 to purchase furniture valued at $6,300 at Dania, 1001 Skokie Blvd.
An iPhone was taken May 10 from the Northbrook Skate Park, 1750 Techny Road.
An iPad valued at $500 was taken Mary 10 from a shelf at Sur la Table in Northbrook Court. The owner said she left it on a shelf while shopping and when she returned it was gone.
A student’s wallet containing $70 in cash was taken Mary 11 from his backpack at Glenbrook North High School, 2300 Shermer Road.
