Northbrook police reports - Jan. 10, 2013

The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Northbrook Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt; only a court of law can make that determination.
BURGLARY
Someone on Dec. 28 cut the lock on the side door of a cargo trailer belonging to Crosstown Electric, which is on the 400 block of Huehl Road, and stole a Honda generator valued at $1,500.
DRUGS
Three 16-year-old boys were cited Jan. 5 for possession of drug paraphernalia after police said they stopped the boys’ vehicle near Appletree and Huckleberry Lanes because of suspicious activity. Officers detected the odor of marijuana and saw a metal grinder and small plastic bag in the front seat. One of the boys also told them about a pipe in the center console. A Feb. 13 court date was set. The boys were released to their parents.
Samuel L. Selyutin, 18, of 2395 Brian Drive, Northbrook, was cited Jan. 5 with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police said they found two glass pipes, one packed with the drug that was not yet burned, as well as a plastic bag containing a small amount of it, and two grinders in his vehicle on the 900 block of Spring Hill Drive. A Feb. 22 court date was set.
Lindsy A. Jacobs, 18, of 8024 Lyon St., Niles, was cited Jan. 5 for possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly disobeying a “No Turn on Red” sign at Willow and Greenwood Roads, police said. Officers added that they found a pipe, packing rod and container with a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. A Feb. 22 court date was set.
Tammy Delgado, 37, of 4351 W. North Ave., Chicago, was cited Dec. 31 for possession of marijuana after police said they discovered her with the drug on the 200 block of Revere Drive. A Jan. 17 court date was set.
Alan J. Edelman, 42, of 1016 Castle Drive, Glenview, was cited Dec. 20 with possession of drug paraphernalia and disobeying a traffic control signal after police said they stopped him on the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard for the traffic code violation and found an illegal drug item. A Jan. 17 court date was set.
DUI
Barry Jilin, 33, of 3109 Pheasant Creek, Northbrook, was charged Jan. 4 with driving under the influence of alcohol and without insurance after police said he was was involved in a crash at the Mobil Gas Station on the 3100 block of Dundee Road. A $1,000 bond was set. A Feb. 13 court date was set.
Jean Eadie Clesen, 46, of 2491 Woodlawn, Northbrook, was charged Dec. 22 with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use, police said, after they stopped her for the traffic code violation. Bond was set at $1,000 cash and her drivers license. A Jan. 17 court date was set.
RETAIL THEFT
Nine Apple TVs valued at a total of $891 were taken Jan. 3 from the Apple store on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road at four different times between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. by two women.
Samari Sanchez, 50, of 3928 N. Rosemont Ave., Chicago, was charged Dec. 16 with felony retail theft after police said she attempted to leave Sephora, on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, without paying for a bottle of cologne valued at $67. Felony charges were approved due to her extensive history. Bond was pending. A Jan. 10 court date was set.
Priscilla C. Castaneda, 62, of 6811 Artesian Ave., Chicago, was charged Dec. 16 with felony retail theft after police said she attempted to leave Sephora without paying for seven bottles of Chanel fragrance valued at a total of $624 in her purse. Bond was pending. A Jan. 4 court date was set.
Monalisa Castaneda, 40, of of 4042 48th St., Chicago, was charged Dec. 16 with felony retail theft after police said she attempted to leave Sephora without paying for a bottle of Juicy Coture, a bottle of Dolce, a bottle of Gabana and a bottle of Miss Dior valued at a total of $442 in her purse. Bond was pending. A Jan. 4 court date was set.
Two thieves on Dec. 21 stole six pairs of UGG boots valued at a total of more than $1,111 from Lord & Taylor on 1400 block of Lake Cook Road.
THEFT
A man about 20 years old who had a shaved head and wore a grey and black jacket on Dec. 22 stole two cell phones from a display at Best Buy on the 1000 block of Willow Road, while two other men created a distraction. The phones were valued at a total of $1,200.
WARRANTS
David W. Stoczynski, 41, of 4903 Pistakee Drive, McHenry, was served with a warrant Dec. 17 on the 1000 block of Sanders Road charging him with driving while his license was revoked, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said. He was found at a residence hiding in a bathtub on the second floor. He also was served with a second warrant for bond forfeiture issued by Palatine police for retail theft. A $10,000 bond was set. A Feb. 4 court date was set.
Christine L. Heiman, 37, of 316 Chipili Drive, Northbrook, was served Jan. 2 with a Lake County warrant for domestic battery, after police said they came into contact with her near Dundee and Midway Roads. A $10,000 bond was set. A Jan. 18 court date was set at 18 N. County St., Waukegan. ~.
