Julie Schuman, daughter of John and Miriam Schuman of Northbrook and a graduate of Glenbrook North High School, has been awarded a National Merit Scholarship. Hope College in Holland, Mi. annually sponsors National Merit Finalists, who inform the National Merit Scholarship Corporation that Hope College is their first choice college, with a $17,000 scholarship renewable through their senior year.
Raymond Peter Dempsey, Jr., of Northbrook, received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and finance from Elon University in Elon, N.C. Dempsey will be employed as a financial analyst at Credit Suisse, Raleigh, N.C. in July.
The following Northbrook residents have been named to the spring dean’s list at Illinois State University in Normal: Rebecca Lee Burnett, Jennifer Chung, Corey Heather Epton, Eleni Kontos, Jacqueline Marie Locascio, Madeline Reed Marsh, Stephen Alexander Mysko and Jordan Nicholas Torf.
Paul McDonald and Alice Mitchell, both Northbrook residents, have been named to the spring dean’s list at Beloit College in Beloit, Wi.
