American Legion and Rotary Awards

Northbrook Junior High School 2012 Graduates David Dischinger and Catherine Seno received the American Legion Citizenship Award during the June 4 graduation ceremony. Each year, the award is presented to a young man and a young woman from the graduating class at Northbrook Junior High School. The award recognizes individuals who place an emphasis on the development of six qualities: courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship, and service. Mitch Schermerhorn and Mae Wimbiscus received Honorable Mention.

The following students were also nominated for the award: Lucy Fogel, Kayla Fox, Lily Jaeger, Jessica Lee, Lily Ruklick, Mae Wimbiscus, Brett Cotler, Ethan Kirshenbaum, Mitch Schermerhorn, Jack Spector Bishop, and Josiah Yoo.

2012 Graduate Kayla Fox received the Rotary Volunteer Service Award. The service club sponsors the award to honor the spirit of volunteerism in a graduate.
