Fun Fair at Westmoor
Westmoor’s new Fun Fair, “The Best Carnival on Earth,” is scheduled for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at Westmoor School, 2500 Cherry Lane. Enjoy an obstacle course, face painting, karaoke, carnival games, a café, cotton candy and more.
HOH 5K Run/Walk scheduled
The PTO Council’s annual HOH 5K Run/Walk, which benefits the District 28 Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund, kicks off at 8 a.m. on Sept. 29 at Northbrook Junior High School, with a Kids’ Race for children 11 and under starting at 9 a.m. that morning.
Race Day registration begins at 7 a.m. and is $25 for adults, $18 for youth, and $10 for the Kids’ Race. All 5K participants are guaranteed a T-shirt.

The event helps to fund college scholarships for outstanding Glenbrook North High School graduates who are District 28 alumni. The scholarship fund was established in 1989 by superintendent of District 28 Dr. Homer O. Harvey, who dedicated his professional career to providing high standards of excellence and learning for District 28 students.
Back-to-School party
Northbrook Junior High School’s annual Back-to-School party is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 21 at Northbrook Junior High, 1475 Maple Ave. For more information, see the NBJH PTO page, at www.northbrook28.net.
Yom Kippur holiday
There is no school on Sept. 26 in observance of Yom Kippur. The district offices will be closed.~.
