Global Citizens Club donates $3,500
Several organizations will be on the receiving end of charitable efforts spearheaded by Glenbrook North’s Global Citizens Club.
Through several pizza and candy sales, as well as their first fundraising dance last school year, members of Global Citizens Club raised $3,500. That money will be donated to a handful of organizations including Invisible Children, Warm Hearts Foundation and 100 Friends.
Global Citizens Club is made up of more than 20 students from GBN. The club responds to human rights abuses throughout the world through public awareness activities and letter writing campaigns.
GBN selects ‘The Elephant Man’ as fall play
Glenbrook North’s fall production of “The Elephant Man” will run from Oct. 18-20 at the Sheely Center for Performing Arts. Show times are every night at 7:30 p.m. “The Elephant Man” tells the story of John Merrick, a side show attraction who is transformed from an object of disgust under the care of celebrated physician Frederick Treves.Check back to www.glenbrook225.org/gbn soon for more information about tickets and ticket prices.
