NORTHBROOK — Northbrook Farmers Market hosted a What’s-In-Season pie baking contest for amateur bakers. Judging took place Aug. 29 in the parking lot of Northbrook United Methodist Church.
Esther Kelly’s pie called a Sunny Day Blueberry Crumb Pie won.
Pie fillings and crusts had to be made from scratch and with in-season fruits or vegetables. Points were awarded for flavor, appearance, crust, filling and creativity.
